Beats Mixr™ Headphone Review

Beats Mixr DJ HeadphonesThe Beats Mixr™ Over-Ear Headphone hit the market back in June 2012. The Beats Mixr headphones are built to withstand the rigors of DJ life, which means creating a housing flexible and tough enough to take a beating. The ultra-flexible headband was also crafted to be super lightweight. David Guetta, one of the top DJs in the world, challenged Beats by Dr. Dre to create the perfect set of world-class ear cups and after many prototypes, looks like they successfully ended their mission.

These Mixr headphones were constructed to combine the best of the previous Beats models; portability and a solid shell  but with metal parts and more balanced sound. The packaging is top notch like all other Beats headphones and I was also impressed with the styling of the headphones.  Sound wise is Beats Mixr sound good but did not blow me away. I listened to a few songs including a few that are known for their bass and it sounded good but did not blow me away. For testing purposes, I connected a thicker audio cable I had laying around instead of the control talk enabled cable and that provided me with the bass I initially expected! These headphones are priced right around $225 and are gaining popularity but I would suggest weighing your options against the other headphones in the market. Shop smart!
